Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer cake tastings?
Yes! That's one of the sweetest parts of planning your wedding! Tasting boxes are $30 and include 4-5 cake flavors, extra fillings to sample, 2-3 macarons, and 2 mini sugar cookies.
Why do you charge for tastings?
Preparing tasting boxes is actually pretty time consuming. Also, unfortunately, people can take advantage of free things. Personally, I would not think twice about paying a small business for their time and ingredients, so I assume my ideal customer would also have that much respect for me.
What are your wedding cake prices?
Wedding cake prices start at $6.00 per serving. We have lots of options available to keep the cake cost in your budget, including kitchen cakes, cupcakes, etc.
How much is a cake?
We get this question on a daily basis. Unfortunately, it's really hard to answer. It's like asking how much is a car. There are so many variables. Single cake or tiered? 3D items or buttercream? Showstopper or simple? Best thing to do is to have an idea of a budget in mind. I have very base prices listed on the pricing page, but those are basically for the cake and very minimal decorating.
Can you copy a cake picture I send you?
NO. I can use it, along with a copy of your invitation or party decor, as inspiration, but I will not outright copy another decorator's work. If you want an exact design that somebody else did, it's easier just to order from them.
Why is your phone number not listed?
Honestly, it's really difficult for me to get to the phone. It's only me, so my time has to be spent the most efficient way possible. Email is much easier for me. I can respond when I have a moment. Also, I do like a written record of what we have discussed.
Who places flowers on the cake?
We do. Generally you will order cake flowers from your florist. BE SURE TO ORDER THEM. Do not assume they will have extra on your wedding day. We want gorgeous blooms to be showcased on your cake, not what's leftover. It's also not fair to your florist to not pay for your cake flowers. That being said, send a photo and cake sizes to your florist, so they know what type and size of flowers to leave. Quite often we are left with size inappropriate flowers, not enough greenery, etc to finish the cake properly. Communication is key! All of your vendors want to do the best job they can for you, so let them know what you need!!
